the city is for strangers like the sky is for stars

so i think im going to new york
im going to sit on the steps of the met
visit times square
stroll through central park
and 5th avenue and wall street

and then im going to visit a friend or two
and spend ridiculous amounts of money
on wonderful new clothes
infact i may take an empty suitcase

who knows i may never return

it will be the new beginning.
